Yay, halfway through the work week! Just gotta hang in there for the last two days🙂
I suppose my post title is a lie in two ways:
- It’s not cloudy today. It’s cold and sunny, but that doesn’t quite have the same ring.
- There is no chance of white hairs. Friends, it has already happened.
I was clipping back my shorter hairs before washing my face when I noticed this…
A single, sneaky white hair. The last time I saw one of those, I was in high school. I never saw one again, so I assumed I was in the clear until I got quite a bit older. Yay for reality😦 I pulled it out and went back to clipping back my hair when I saw ANOTHER ONE!
This one didn’t show up in pictures clearly, but I could see it as clear as day. I’ve had friends who have had white hairs for a good majority of their lives, so I know I shouldn’t complain, but it still made me sad lol. I am only turning 25 after all.
They say that white hairs give a man character, so what about for women? If it works for Hugh Hefner, it’s gotta work for me, right? Not.
After I got home and took Mochi out, I headed to my apartment gym to get in a workout. I started off by doing a 3 mile hill/speed interval workout at a medium intensity on the dreadmill. I’ve been having some issues with pain in my right arch, so I didn’t want to put too much pressure on it. Actually, I probably should not be doing much on it at all, but my foot feels good when I’m running fast and hurts when I walk or jog. [Note to self: Make an appointment with the doctor about my foot.] I’ll hold off on running until at least this weekend.
I followed that with the below upper body workout done circuit style and repeated 3 times:
- Bicep curls
- Tricep dips
- Chest presses
- Lat pulldowns
- Lat raises
- Various ab exercises
Ooh baby…I was excited for dinner tonight! Toward the end of my work day, I got a huge craving for a salad monster, but I was getting sick of salmon burger patties on top. I’ve been seeing a lot of black bean burger recipes and boxed varieties, so I headed to the store and came back with these goods:
Spicy black bean burgers! While I was there, I really wanted some hearty veggies and grains, so I picked up a pack of microwave Green Giant because I’m lazy like that😉 I already had some pre-made whole grains at home, so it worked out just perfectly.
This is exactly what I wanted. I topped it all off with some salsa and went to town.
Behold my salad monster! I really liked the spicy black bean burger. It had tons of flavor, and the texture wasn’t weird at all. I think I’ll have this for lunch tomorrow, too🙂
I am thankful for having flexible students. Tutoring gives me some extra spending money outside of my real job, and my students are always very flexible with me and my work schedule. I’ve been with them for years, so it’s good to know we can accommodate for each other.
Question of the Day: I just realized I haven’t put up a question in awhile! What’s your favorite kind of alternative burger?
